The Baza School
Pedro Martínez Peñalver is among the least documented guitar makers in The ANICETO Collection. Near-zero public presence. Local Baza archive only. Model 26 confirmed on label. Builder's stamp 1730 on the transverse brace is a unique identifier.
The label reads: "Sucesor de Alfonso Checa · Constructor de Guitarras, Bandurrias y Laúdes de Artesanía · C. Dorados 7 · Baza (Granada)." The "Sucesor de Alfonso Checa" inscription is the explicit declaration of transmission, Peñalver did not simply build in the same tradition as Checa; he named himself the successor at the same workshop address. C. Dorados 7, Baza is confirmed as the workshop address for both Checa and Peñalver, label-confirmed by multiple instruments including El Montañero.

Baza School Lineage
The Baza school occupies a geographical and documentary gap in Spanish guitar historiography. Peñalver worked in the Checa workshop tradition and is almost entirely undocumented outside his own instruments. The full lineage context is covered in the ANICETO University curriculum.

Tradition & Use
Baza's flamenco tradition is rooted in the fandango de Granada and the deeper jondo forms carried through the highlands of eastern Andalusia - a regional voice documented by the instruments themselves rather than by the historical record.
